Qualifications/Experience: Associate of Arts Degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant, Occupational Therapy Assistant Certification required. Successful background check required. Prefer experience working with children.

Specific Tasks: The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) is responsible for implementing intervention and therapy regarding students' fine and gross motor skills and functional abilities (e.g. perceptual-motor, hand functions, motor coordination, sensory development, muscle strength, etc.) under the direction of the Occupational Therapist. As a COTA, your duties are performed in support of an occupational therapist providing treatment for patients. A school COTA works with students who need therapy services, and your responsibilities focus on helping children be able to participate in educational activities and classes. As a COTA, you help collect information and assess the needs of students before working with an occupational therapist to plan and administer a treatment program.
